Virginia (Jean) Bruce Roberson Herrington

January 8, 1924 - June 1, 2016

Virginia (Jean) Bruce Roberson Herrington, age 92, died Wednesday June 1, 2016 in Indianapolis, IN.

The Allen County native was the daughter of the late Claude and Lora Bruce and wife of the late James Herrington.  Jean was a member of the Englewood Eastern Star, Ernie Pyle  VFW, VFW Women's Auxiliary and the American Legion Beech Grove.  She was also an avid bingo player and a supporter of Little League Baseball and Softball.  For many years, she was team Mother for visiting teams playing in Indianapolis.

Survivors include her children, Harry (Liz) Roberson, Sharron (Ed) Clearwater, Brenda (Ted) Porterfield, Harold Herrington, James Alan (Michelle) Herrington, 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, her sister Wilma Mack and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN.

Local Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 9:00 to Noon and the T.W. Crow & Sons Funeral Home and from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the Mt. Union General Baptist Church.

Eastern Star Service 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the T.W. Crow and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday June 7, 2016 2:00 PM at the Mt. Union General Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
