Ruby Barton Guy

Ruby Barton Guy, age 88 died Monday August 11, 2014 at the Medical Center Scottsville, KY.

The Lerona, West Virginia native was third daughter of Roscoe Manelius Caldwell and Daisy Crews Caldwell, wife of the late Clyde E. Barton and C.E. Guy, Jr. Siblings preceding her in death were Garnet Neely, Bessie Hulver and Thurman Caldwell.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Barton-Wheaton, son-in-law Richard (Dick) Wheaton, of Scottsville, a sister Carol Farley of Flat Top, WV, two brothers Roy Caldwell of Princeton, WV, and Donald of MD.

She was a lifelong member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church where she taught youth and young adults Sunday School for many years. She prized being a loving wife and mother holding strong ethical and Christian values. Her citizenship was shown first with her work in the WW II War Efforts where she worked for Western Electric wiring telephones, then as a 4-H Leader plus many years as a Homemakers Club member in the Extension Service. And, she worked many years as an employee of Dollar General Corporation.

Funeral Services were held Thursday August 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the T W Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial at Crescent Hill Cemetery.
