Miriam Weaver Cornwell, 91, a resident of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on Thursday December 28, 2017. Born and raised in Scottsville, KY, Miriam was a former resident of Nashville, TN for over 50 years. Miriam attended college at Western Kentucky University and enjoyed a long career with MetLife in Office Management. Miriam was very proud to be one of the “Girls of Atomic City”, where she worked during WWII. She is preceded in death by her parents, May & Warren Weaver; sisters, Mildred, Gertrude, Marjorie, and Nathalie; brother, Edward; nephew John Newman; and loving husband, William Frank Cornwell. Miriam leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving son, William David Cornwell; daughter-in-law, Lynna Webb Cornwell; nieces, Lynn McGuffey (Bryan), Susan Eblen (Tom), and Margaret Turner (Cal), Jane Newman; nephews, George Newman (Jane), Mark Towe (Doris), Tyler Towe (Ronnie), Tom Yates, and Bob Weaver. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday July 28. 2018 at the Turner Chapel at Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville KY.
