Manmohan "Sunny" Singh Sawhney

August 26, 1964 - August 15, 2018

Manmohan Singh Sawhney, better known as "Sunny Singh", age 53, went to be with the Lord in his heavenly home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born in Chandigarh (Punjab), India, he was the son of the late Aujagar Singh Sawhney and the late Basant Kaur Sethi Sawhney.

After earning his Master's Degree from Panjab University, he worked in the family businesses. He later came to the United States and settled in Southern California, where he met and married his wife, and also where their daughter was born. He spent 8 years managing his own business in Fort Collins, Colorado before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2017.

His loved ones left to cherish his memory include his wife Deanna (Hunter) Sawhney, his daughter Elizabeth Sawhney, his nephew Dr. Jaskaran Singh Sawhney, his nephew's wife Dr. Manveen Kaur Sawhney, his niece Mischeal Kaur Sawhney, and his sister-in-law Satinder Kaur Sawhney (wife of the late Devinder Singh Sawhney).

Sunny was a kind, generous man who was passionate about his faith and his work in retail operations management. He enjoyed cooking, good-natured teasing, and especially loved to spend time at home with his wife and daughter.

A memorial service is being planned for September in Charlotte, North Carolina.
