Jimmy and Thelma Simmons

James Lewis Simmons, October 25, 1928 – January 18, 2021, was the son of the late James William (Sap) Simmons and Verdie Simmons Beckam and step-son of C. B. (B) Beckham.

Thelma Reed Spears Simmons, August 8, 1928 – October 9, 2015, was the daughter of the late Roy W. Spears and Verlis Spears.

They are survived by their son James Michael (Mike) Simmons and wife Jayne, two grandsons, James Michael Simmons II and Jonathan Marcus (Marc) Simmons and his wife Chelsey, and four great-grandchildren, Hogan, Cole, Harper and Hollis. Preceding them in death was their son Ruston (Russ) Lewis Simmons.

Thelma and Jimmy were Scottsville natives and longtime members of Scottsville Baptist Church.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00 in the afternoon, at Crescent Hill Cemetery.  Stories will be shared, laughter in the air and remembering of two wonderful individuals.
