Hollis Mae Hanes Turner

Hollis Mae Hanes Turner, age 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side June 17, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Lester Otis and Zourie Austin Hanes. She is preceded in death by one brother James Otis Hanes.
She is survived by two daughters Lisa Turner Cline and Lee Ann Sowell (John), four grandchildren McKenzi White (Mason), John Austin Sowell (Whitney), Jackson Sowell and Bailee Sowell, one sister Marie Mauldin, and one nephew Tim Mauldin (Patti), two great-nephews Drew and Alex (Kim) Mauldin.
Hollis was a 1957 graduate of Allen County High School and was a long time resident of Bowling Green, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Scottsville at the age of 19. She was a loving, thoughtful and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her greatest joy was spending time with her four grandchildren, attending their events, cooking for them and most always, laughing with them. She enjoyed family gatherings, reading, walking outdoors and talking with her friends, especially over a cup of coffee. She will be remembered for her generous heart, wonderful smile and devotion to her family. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday June 28, 2018 at T.W. Crow and Son Funeral Home in Scottsville. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday June 27, 2018 and 11:00 AM Thursday until time for services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Scottsville.
