Bill Minix, age 83, died Monday September 21, 2020 at the TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN.
Born in Scottsville, Ky. to the late Will T. Minix and Violet Trammel Minix, Bill was a pillar in the Allen County community with 29 years of public service. Starting in the Scottsville Police Department as patrolman and then assistant chief, he then moved to the Sheriff’s Office as deputy and sheriff. Bill served as chief deputy at the Allen County Jail, finishing his public service career as County Judge Executive for 13 years. A man loyal to his community and family he was preceded in death by his son Tommy Minix.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Minix of Scottsville, son Owen Minix (Shenna) of Scottsville, daughter in law, Diane Minix, five granddaughters, Chelsea Pardue (Dan), Holly Thomason (Robert), Shelly Johnson (Mike), Heather Fowler (Sam), and Kali Minix, and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 23, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM at T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Thursday September 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM at T. W. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Crescent Hill Cemetery.
Memorial Donations can be made to the Scottsville Fraternal Order of Police or Life Skills.
